The Office of the Registrar has a two-part mission: to support the University's teaching function by documenting the extent and quality of students' formal learning experiences and to provide quality service to students, faculty, staff and the general public in the creation, maintenance, and release of student academic records. The mission is accomplished in accordance with institutional academic policies and practices as well as adherence to rules of other external regulatory agencies. Unit programs and services are delivered using the latest technological advances to support the overall learning and development of USF students and in response to changing institutional needs. The unit's strengths include a staff with a strong work ethic, commitment, perspective, and creativity to anticipate customer needs and generally get it right the first time; unparalleled volumetric productivity or transaction processing; technical expertise to adapt, modify, enhance, and recreate computer systems and applications to meet university/unit needs; and maintenance of vast amounts of data that are regularly assembled or arranged to illuminate problems, frame options, and offer solutions.
The Office of the Registrar made several contributions in support of these overarching strategic goals and achievements. Strong unit performance is maintained by blending ideas, people, and technology-leaving customers with a high degree of satisfaction. The unit focused on the following imperatives:
Streamlining admissions, records, registration, and advising services on each campus
Leveraging technology resources by providing the USF community greater access and functionality
Implementing continuous quality improvements that enhance Registrar's services and programs
Shaping the enrollment profile by providing data to inform decisions
Providing a student-centered, user-friendly administrative and service infrastructure
